DEPRESSION
Depression is a growing problem in western society. Sadly there is very little effective medication available for this condition. Traditional antidepressants don’t offer relief to everybody and they have destructive effects in and of themselves. Besides causing severe side effects, they are also highly addictive. Luckily there is a herbal substance without side effects that can offer a fast and effective treatment for depression. It has been shown that cannabis can play a successful part in treating symptoms of depression and related mental conditions. Especially cannabidiol (CBD), the non-psychoactive substance from weed, has strong anti depressive characteristics; and opposed to pharmaceutical medication, it has no negative side effects. This phenomenon is being research in The Netherlands at the moment, but the effects have already been proven by researchers from the University of Cantabria. They discovered that CBD has rapid anti depressive effects that can be extended with repeated dosages.
Depressie is een groeiend probleem in de westerse wereld. Helaas zijn er voor de mentale aandoening weinig goedwerkende medicijnen te krijgen. Traditionele antidepressiva brengen niet iedereen verlichting en hebben zelf al schadelijke gevolgen. Naast heftige bijwerkingen zijn ze bijvoorbeeld ook verslavend. Gelukkig is er een plantaardig middel zónder bijwerkingen dat een snelle en effectieve behandeling kan zijn voor depressie.
Steeds vaker blijkt cannabis echter een rol te kunnen spelen in het behandelen van depressieklachten en andere soortgelijke mentale klachten. Vooral cannabidiol (CBD), de niet-psychoactieve stof uit wiet, heeft sterke anti-depressieve eigenschappen; en in tegenstelling tot farmaceutische medicatie géén negatieve bijwerkingen.
Dit fenomeen wordt momenteel zelfs onderzocht in Nederland, maar werd onlangs al bewezen door wetenschappers van de universiteit van Cantabria. Zij ontdekten dat CBD snelwerkende anti-depressieve effecten heeft die kunnen worden verlengd met herhaalde doseringen.
